Traktor 4 - Generate Multiple STEMs in a queue (and outside library mode)
I understand the heavy compute nature of the exercise, having done a little work with AI/ML in the past…
Hello !
Generating STEMs on the fly is amazing, but it seems to have a few requisites:
1- Track must be in Collections (either imported as playlist, or just in general)
2- Track must have been analysed prior (usually if it's in collection, it also is analysed…)
3- you can't generate stems from the explorer mode (the option isn't available)
we can only generate STEMs one track at a time, and you have to wait for one track to be done to be done to click on the next one
will it ever be possible to generate multiples at once (multi-threaded), or at least queue sequential (single-threaded)? (similar to how the analysis option works, in facts)
i'm thinking shift+click several files, then click generate stems ?
or maybe a whole playlist ? how about my whole library ?!
(i can run my pc for a week or two, no problem !)
Thanks ! :)

okay, so i tried it, and it does indeed queue several tracks, but it won't reflect that until the first track is finished the the INFO display gets updated. then it shows the correct count.
This has always been the case for Analyze jobs as well. They just update faster because every job only takes a few seconds.
Batches were left out intentionally, to be introduced in an update at a later date.

You can already cue them up so several will generate one after the other while you go water your plants or do your laundry, but you have to give the 'generate' command to each track separately. Best you make the INFO line at the bottom of the playlist visible in PREFERENCES.

been looking at INFO, yes
so far it only ever shows [1/1] even if i click multiple files, i'll give it another try. thanks
i would really like to select my 8000 songs and queue them, but whenever i select more than one file, the generate stem option isn't offered.
i could settle with right clicking a playlist, as well…
i guess i'm wondering if it's an oversight or working as intended (to prevent people cooking their CPU on a performance…)0 -

however, i still have to click each of them individually, no mean to batch select and click "generate STEMs"
thanks for the eye-opener, half the question is solved :)0 -
