I have searched the internet, the community, the user manual. Somebody, somewhere, surely has a key for all the symbols used in the software and what they mean? There are so many now it's difficult to interpret them.

You mean all the buttons?
If you activate this [i] icon you can hover over most buttons with the mouse and get an explanation of what it does.
