Unable to download GUI/Browser for Kontakt
I purchased Kontakt 7. When I open the browser, I get the attached screenshot of the GUI/browser which looks like a "limited" version of Kontakt (see attached) and not the proper "full" version which should include the five icons on the left of the top bar. I have tried to resolve this through NI's webchat but the solution they provided did not work. Now they are no longer responding to me. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Kontakt and it doesn't work. They have no phone number or contact address in the US. If I can't resolve this, I will have no option but to file a small claims action against them through their registered agent in Los Angeles. That is the absolute last thing I want to do, but I don't know of any other way to resolve this ——- unless some of you guys can suggest something. Thanks for any ideas you might come up with. Patrick

The latest version doesn't have the icons, they were removed in an update (I think around version 7.6) so what you're seeing is correct.
If you want to remove the "New instruments for you" panel at the bottom of the screen to give you a larger browser view there's an option at the bottom of the first page in Preferences that lets you do that.

Thank you mykejb. I don't know why they didn't point that out when I got on webchat with them. The problem with the new GUI is that (i) there is no icon to click to add in new instruments; (ii) as you can see from the attachment, the enlarge square at the top right hand corner has been blanked out so I can't enlarge the screen. Also - and maybe this is something you can help me with - when I click on any of the sounds which I have installed, Kontakt receives the signal from my midi keyboard but just plays a piano sounds!
And finally, (finally!) when I try to get back on the webchat, it pulls up my prior question and no one is responding to any new questions that I post.
I hate to put those questions to you (I wouldn't if I could get any response from the IN webchat) If you can respond to any of those, I'd be so grateful.

Easy one first - to enlarge the screen you have to use the little triangle icon at the bottom right. Click/drag it to resize the screen.
What do you mean by "Add new instruments"? Once you leave the Browser view (click the "Library" button) you get back to the old Kontakt view that shows you the instrument rack and the original browser on the left. Click on the View menu to show/hide the various parts of that interface. If that doesn't help let us know more detail about what you're trying to do.
Not sure why you'd get piano sounds, are you running inside a DAW or standalone when that happens?
You should be getting a better response from support, so I've add a "customer care" tag to you post so it gets flagged up to the support team.
Don't be sorry for asking questions, that's what support forums are for!

Thanks much again, mykejb. Found the little triangle. As for "add new instruments", NI did point me to an article about adding 'non-player libraries to Kontakt 7's browser" but the problem is that is refers to the old Kontakt view, not the one. There are some instrument libraries which Kontakt automatically detects but there are some libraries which it doesn't. Under the old Kontakt view, you could click on a cogwheel in the bottom left of the browser and it would allow you to navigate to the folder where the library was located. You could then add that library to the ones that show up automatically in the rack view. There is no such cog wheel in the GUI/browser so I don't know how to add new libraries to the rackview.
As for the piano sounds, I will try to take that up with Kontakt directly.
They actually did respond at the same time that you responded so that is encouraging.
Thanks again and have a great weekend.

It's there in your screenshot - next to the preview volume slider - but it adds new libraries to the browser (which btw is the new browser, the rack view and Quick View Browser are the old browsers)

It IS there! Don't know how I missed that. Thanks kymeia.

I think the “New Instruments for You” annoyance is getting in the way, but luckily you can get rid of it
