Failing to load libraries in old music projects because libraries are now Kontakt 7

I recently had to reinstall my computer because I was having some issues. I went to load up a music project that's a few months old now and I'm getting a bunch of messages about Kontakt 6 failing to find files. Opening them up, they're searching for the data. Looking at Native Access, I can see so much stuff in my library is now Kontakt 7 based (e.g. Twenty Five library). I don't really know what to do. There's no option in native access to download the last Kontakt 6 compatible versions. Even if I paid to have the full version of Kontakt 7 that still wouldn't fix the problem since the instance in my project is Kontakt 6. Is there a way to download all the last Kontakt 6 versions of my libraries?

You can download older, Kontakt 6 compatible versions of libraries from the following thread:

Not all may be listed (yet). If you miss a particular one, then please post the name of it.

If you've figured out a solution, I'm quite curious how you managed to fix the issue in the end! I read some forum posts about some people needing to have both the Kontakt 6 and Kontakt 7 libraries installed simultaneously, but have no idea how that'd work. :( (Maybe using separate hard drives, or separate folders for Kontakt 6 vs. 7 folders?)

As far as us users not being able to access Kontakt 6-compatible libraries… For whatever reason Native Instruments doesn't feel comfortable letting us access them, so you need to request everything if a previous forum post hasn't already covered them.

» Some of the links provided will take you to a library installer that you can just run and install on your computer. For the ones that don't work like that, you have to install the Kontakt 7 version first, THEN run the installer to allow for Kontakt 6 compatibility. :\

It took hours of my personal time to research & organize a list of libraries from Komplete 14 that SHOULD have Kontakt6 compatibility due to being released before Kontakt7. Plus MANY back-and-forth emails with a rep who seemed to actively ignore the contents of my message/request for the first several go-rounds.

The exchange left me so exhausted I literally gave up on my installation project for several months after receiving a satisfactory reply — haven't yet tested the list of installers they sent. (A good number of them aren't mentioned in the forum.) Hoping I'll have time to finally check things out in the near future, and share with the NI community…

    Hey CJ!

Yeah, this whole experience has been really bizarre. The decision to force everyone into having to upgrade to Kontakt 7 is gross. Not only from a financial standpoint but upgrading doesn't even solve the problem since Kontakt 7 is a different VST and any project using Kontakt 6 libs will be missing. It's just horrible.

I can't remember the exact order if what I did, but the gist of it was I ended up downloading the Google Drive linked versions of the Kontakt 6 libraries as well as Native Access v1 that Monochrome shared above. Then installed Kontakt 6 libraries and used the "located this library" feature in Native Access. I believe that sorted the problem out.

I really don't understand why Native didn't just allow users to continue to use the libraries they paid for at the last supported Kontakt version that they have. Breaking a bunch of projects doesn't seem like great customer care. Honestly hope more library vendors start to use alternative options. I don't really want to spend anymore money on Kontakt libraries now
