What directory on the flash disk should I paste the vst to so that maschine+ can see and play it?

all the best

All the synths and effects that can run on the Maschine+ standalone are preinstalled.

You cannot run VST plugins from your Mac or PC on the Maschine+ standalone.

it's a pity. mascine+ is a very poor product. I regret that I bought it. Even not run a Absynth.

You have to manually install things from device itself.

Absynth is a discontinued product, so it will most likely never be available on the M+. Everything that works on the M+ standalone is listed on it's product page under "Sounds":

    a very poor product

If it's poor because it doesn't run VSTs, then by default all other similar standalone devices must be poor, because none of them are capable of running Mac/PC VST plugins directly on the device.

Poor buying decision, if you didn't happen to read what the device's features are.

Have a look at this video for a workaround if you need a particular sound on the standalone:

The Maschine is an incredibly powerful device, once you get to know everything it can do - but, yes, it can’t do everything - particularly in standalone mode… but there are some workarounds, as above. You can use external VST’s in controller mode on your desktop, using the Maschine 2 software. So another workaround would be to do your external vat work on desktop, then convert your ideas to audio and then put those back into the internal SD card. I’m not by my setup right now. so can’t go into how to do all of this - but if you spend some time getting to know the Maschine, you may end up not regretting your purchase so much - there really is a lot it can do, really well, if you get to know it in detail. it might be worth looking at a course if you want to get up to speed more quickly. I’ve been doing this one, and it’s really opened up my understanding of what is and isn’t possible:

You can also just use placeholder built in sounds on the standalone, and then replace them later on the desktop. There really is an awful lot you can do - but learning all of this can take a little while - but it’s worth it once you do, and you may end up feeling that even though it can’t do everything - it still does way more than many other options can do, in terms of integrations with controller and desktop software, DAW, awesome sound sets and workflows.

Hope this helps. I too had expected a bit more when I first got mine - but at that point, I also really didn’t have a full understanding of all the things it was awesome at - and now I think it’s worth indispensable. Think of it as one of your tools, rather than all of them, and you may well grow happier with your purchase over time, like i have :)

One last thing that would have saved me time - learn to use it as a controller with Maschine 2.0 on your desktop FIRST - and then take that knowledge with you to the Maschine+ afterwards. You’ll learn more, a lot faster about what is and isn’t possible, and better appreciate how to use them together - good luck!
