Can you adjust the range of a macro?

I have a bunch of groups, and I have a good sounding mix where they are all set to different levels. Some loud groups are at -8, some drums are at zero. So that is the 'optimum' mix.

I want to use macros so that I can pull down the levels of groups, and the set them back to their original level. I made macros, but that just allows me to mix the full range of volume. I want possibly a 'relative' adjustment, or even just set the max to whatever is best and minimum to zero.

Is this possible?

No, you cannot. Custom ranges range for Macros have been requested a million times, maybe one day.

Depending on why you want such a thing using LockStates could be an option, save a lock state with your "optimum mix", then make a new one and mess around then re-enable the 1 lock state whenever you want to came back to your "optimum mix".

Macro Ranges arent possible as of right now. It would be amazing if we could group macros to a single knob and set ranges (just like in Ableton).

But this is my work around, Add a "Limiter" at the end of the Chain (either group level or sound level depending on what you are trying to Macro) set Limiter to "0db Threshold" so it is as transparent as possible and use the "Ceiling" to set your mix level.

In your Case to get -8db of Volume at full Macro, set the Limiter's "Ceiling" to "-18db", because once the volume macro goes full range, you will be at +10db. the limiter will keep it at your desired level at -8db without coloring the sound (if the Threshold is at 0db). Do not Macro the Limiter at all.

Not straightforward but it works. Ideally next version of Maschine they will allow macros to have a Range Controls

Thanks for the feedback. Instead of using volume macros, I decided to use filters, so my volumes stay the same when the filter is wide open, but I can dial that down to eliminate the group from my mix. For what I'm doing, it's essentially the same idea. But for other stuff where I'm using a filter as an effect - I really wish I could set mins and max.
