Repair to water damaged tempo and volume fader on S4 Mk3

During a gig a few weeks ago a patron spilt some liquid on my S4 Mk3 DJ controller. The left deck tempo fader and channel C fader got water ingress and the tempo jumps all over the place now on the left deck. It is still usable but I have to sync lock the left deck to stop tempo jumps when using it.

I have equipment insurance so started a claim. They want a repair or replacement quote from a repair shop before they will action my claim.

Are there any repair shops in North West England that I could take it to? I basically need an assessment of the damage and a quote.

The insurance company have offered to pick it up by courier and send it to a repair place in Aylesbury but I need my S4 every weekend for gigs that are booked and don't know how long it will be out of my possession.

As you are needing your S4 Mk3 every weekend for gigs and even insured it, it looks like it is mission critical and crucial for your business. You should make some thoughts about a general backup strategy in case your S4 Mk3 fails or gets damaged - maybe on your way to your gig.

So I suggest to get an backup controller. If there is enough money a second S4 Mk3 (and the old one gets backup after repair) or if this is to expensive maybe an S2 Mk3 or S3. Both are available on reverb.com refurbished for 170£ or 300£ from Native Instruments. With any of these solutions you have something for your gigs while your S4 Mk3 is in repair and a backup in any emergency.

Or look if you can rent a S4 Mk3 for the duration of the repair.
