new S4 MK3 not recognized with Traktor Pro 2 and Mojave 10.14?

Hi everyone! I have a show coming up and would love to get playing around with the new unit I just got

, so any help would be great!

The facts:

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro that won’t update past Mojave 10.14.6
I just picked up a new Kontrol S4 MK3.
I could only install Traktor Pro 2 because of the operating system.
Traktor Pro 2 doesn’t seem to recognize the controller, and the controller won’t light up when plugged in.
It wont show adding the MK3 as an option for setup, and only has an S2 as a device option.
When I plug it in and try to connect it says everything that's connected is already added

The controller originally came out in 2018, so I figured there shouldn’t be a problem with it being compatible with Pro 2. Is it the up to date firmware that’s the issue? Or what else could be going on?

Just tried my friends S3 as well and it's doing the same thing.

What's strange is that I don't even see the midi symbol in the top - so I think something is missing with my setup and installation?

The last update of Traktor Pro 2 was released in May 2018, and the S4 MK3 came out in November 2018. The S3 was released even later. So naturally they only work with Traktor Pro 3, which requires macOS 11 or later.

As @ErikMinekus already wrote: You need Traktor Pro 3 for Traktor Kontrols S4 Mk3 and S3. Both models usually use HID and not MIDI. S3 can be set to MIDI mode and may work with TP2 then but you have to map everything yourself in this case.

However Mid 2012 MacBook Pro should upgrade up to macOS 10.15 Catalina. With Catalina you can run Traktor Pro 3 up to version 3.8.0.

Even with macOS 10.14 Mojave Traktor Pro 3 is supported up to version 3.7.0.

Both controllers are tailored to Traktor Pro 3 as they feature buttons especially for the new mixer effects of Traktor Pro 3.
