I recently used Native Access to install Kontakt 7 on my Mac. But it only installed the AU version. I would like to use the VST version of Kontakt 7. Is there a reason Native Access only installed the AU version? Is there a way to get it to install the VST version?

What is your DAW, mate? And what Mac do you have, Intel or Apple Silicon?

Sorry. DAW is Reaper. It is an iMac with M1 chip.

OK, first thing is that only VST3 and AU plugins from NI are Apple Silicon compatible, VST ones are not. So (I don’t know Reaper well) you either need to make Reaper to use VST3 or AU plugins from NI or you could try to run it in Rosetta mode and then check if it sees VST versions at all.

It might also be that VST versions are not installed at all on Apple Silicon Macs, just VST3 and AU.

Hopefully someone who knows Reaper will help you more (I’m Logic Pro guy myself).

Thanks for the reply. Guess I should have been even more specific. My issue is Native Access only installed Kontakt 7 AUi. It did not install a VST3 version.

I collaborate with a Windows user, and we have had success trading Reaper files back and forth if we are both using VST(x) versions of the same plug-ins. (Whereas AUi plug-ins are designed for Apple hardware, as I understand it.)
