Sound dropping out with a Kontrol S2 Mk3

I need some help sanity checking my thoughts on a problem I'm having.

I just bought a used S2 Mk3 and I'm using Traktor 3.11.1 on a M2 Max Macbook running macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. According to the online specs, all these should work ok and are supported.

I'm getting sound dropouts at random times. Can't diagnose the cause. Tried turning off multi-processor, turning off sync, turning off key lock, can't figure out what is causing this or the timing of this.

I can record the dropout. It's not a straight cut to 0, its a quick ramp down and ramp up of a few milliseconds.

My current assumption right now is that the S2 has nothing to do with this since I can record the issue and I assume the recorded audio doesn't go anywhere near the S2.

I'm trying to reproduce the issue without the S2 connected but in the meantime, any ideas you guys have that could help diagnose or eliminate potential causes?

Just wanted to clarify that I'm able to record the drop out with Traktor itself.
