I have an old session that used settings in guitar rig 4. I've since upgraded to guitar rig 5 and no longer have access to GR4 How can I get the settings from that old session? Is there a way to get a hold of guitar rig 4?

Thx!

Unfortunately you can only import presets that were saved as user presets. I'm afraid you'll have to create a new preset in GTR5.

You could try and import the preset in Guitar Rig 5, it should be like for Guitar Rig 7: How to Import User Presets from Older Versions to Guitar Rig 7

You can also try to install Guitar Rig 4, it will switch to demo but it might be enough to open this old session: GUITAR RIG 4

    thanks for the response.

I reinstalled guitar rig 4 from my Komplete 6 cd's and ran it in demo mode, but it didn't load the settings on the session. I don't know how to activate if I wanted to.

How can I import it to a later version of guitar rig if I can't load the settings in the session?

    thx again,

Someone over here in a discussion claims to get some files to work simply by replacing text in files with the new Guitar Rig version , in your case version 5 ? . I have absolutely no idea if that is working or not but if you want to try the do it on a copy of the files rather than on the original ! Discussion is this discussion.

Thanks Poorfellow, that seems to work only if you had the preset. I don't have a preset, but setting on the plugin in a session.

In the end I'll just try to recreate it in GR5. It was a very particular effect I'd dialed up but you can't fight progress.
