I can hear my instruments play through my output but whenever I try to record my audio through desktop audio(same output) It wont record the audio. It used to work before and I feel like it has somthing to do with my audio configurations. I use an ID4 as my audio interface. I've tried uninstalling kontakt and reinstalling it and reverting audio settings but still cannot get it to how I had it before. does any one have a solution to this?

Prior to any changing settings then please always make a manually made Windows Restore Point to revert to if you are unhappy with the result.

I can not say if any of this is going to help you since I have a hard time getting a full overview of your setup , but try this :

Try checking your settings in following parts of Windows Settings :

    Settings : Sound mixer

    Settings : Manage Sound devices

Settings : Sound settings (then top right : Related Settings : Sound Control Panel)

The above Sound mixer , Manage Sound devices and Sound settings can all be found using Windows Search.

Also some problems sometimes can be alleviated by installing the Realtek HD Audio Manager and using settings there. The Realtek HD Audio Manager usually is part of RealTek driver pack from motherboard or computer manufacturers site.
