Hey there,

I'm about t buy Native Instruments Komplete 7 (7 CDs) on ebay. How can I determine whether that version/product is upgradable to Komplete 14 Standard?

Many thanks in advance

Be sure that what you're buying is the CDs and the full licence for Komplete 7. If the seller doesn't say it comes with a licence assume it doesn't. It's probably a good idea to message the seller and ask if they will be providing a transfer ID for the product. Without the licence the CDs are useless.

Having said that, if it's a genuine full K7 licence you should be able to upgrade it.

Infinitely important to confirm a serial number - which back in the K7 days - usually came on a white sticker inside the manuals - or in one obscure case for me years ago - another white sticker that was pasted inside one of the CD/DVD case plastic holders.

Without a serial - you are buying a set of coffee coasters with NI logos on them.

thanks a lot for your quick answer. The seller just states that it is a new and unused product, so I guess a transfer is not necessary. But there should be something like a licence serial, right? Assuming she is an honest seller, could I do or ask anything to help her find out what I want/need to know. Please excuse the newbie questions, i got no experience with NI products…

Transfer IDs are only for products that have been registered. If it's new and unused you should get a serial number with it, but be sure to ask. New and unused should be in a sealed box.
