Will mappings that work on tractor pro 2 work on tractor 3 (and vice versa - those dedicated to tractor 3 can be used in tractor pro2)?

I'm really into buy a new controller and I don't want to change Traktor to Serato. I use Traktor Pro 2, but all available mappings are dedicated to Traktor 3. Would it work on Pro 2?

You will only miss those Pro3 features like Mixer effect selector, Reverse Flux and Limiter. Otherwise the mapping code is the same.

You can try but there have been some changes regarding to mappings in later versions of Traktor Pro 3. I'm using a Traktor Pro 2 mapping (DDJ-SZ - official Pioneer mapping) in Traktor Pro 3 and that works flawlessly.

In general, the mapping assignments remain the same from version to version. There are a tiny few function that have been culled, mostly pre TP 2.6.8 stuff. Some have gotten a different name, but the same ID, and are correctly transferred to later versions. Some additional assignments have been introduced, like with the advent of stems and such.
