Cant use Traktor Kontrol S4 mk1 decks as input

Hi,

I've recently bought a Kontrol S4 mk1 and have Traktor Pro 2, and have tried to do the setup however cannot get the decks to work for mixing.

I've got the USB going from the decks to the laptop. No other cords are being used.

The audio output is correctly going through the decks (ie. sound plays through the speakers/headphones that are plugged into the decks) however none of the buttons on the decks do anything.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

I should note I've only installed Traktor Pro 2 (through Native Access), and the Kontrol S4 mk1 driver off the website. Do I need some other programs?

Check that the S4 is selected as a device in the Device Setup of Controlller Manager.

What OS are you using?

Not sure if it's there on traktor pro 2, but if it is, does this light up when you press a button on the s4?

I have it selected (but I had to add it to select it) however the only options for in-port is None

I am running windows 10.

This is what the indicator lights look like now. Audio light is on but the controller light is not.

Oh hang on, that's Traktor Scratch. Also there's nothing mapped in your screen shot (assignment table) so my guess is that TS is too old, and the S4 was released after TS was dropped.

Should the assignment table auto populate? We had to click ‘add…’ under device and select the S4, but then it leaves the assignment table empty.

Also the previous owner used TS with these decks so I assume it should work, especially considering Traktor Kontrol S4 is a built in option.

My understanding is that if there's a mapping available then that area should have a list of all the mapped stuff. If I were you, I'd download the latest version of Traktor and give that a try.

Traktor Pro does not come up in my Native Access app, just Traktor Scratch Pro
