I'm struggling to send audio to my Maschine mk2 from my Behringer td3. I have it set up as follows.

Midi out/through from td3 to midi in Maschine.

Midi out Maschine to midi in Td3

Td3 appears to be sending a midi signal to Maschine, but it will only play it if i assign a sound like a drum, piano, etc to a pad, and then its just played in whatever sound ive selected. Maschine is linked to my pc via usb, as is the td3. Should I be routing the audio output on the td3 to somewhere, and with what cable? Sorry for the novice type question..

    Hello,

you simply use the 1/4 inch or 6,3 mm mono (TS) output, and connect it with your audio interface (like an native instruments komplete audio 1 or 2. Then you can record it or just apply fx within maschine.

Ok thanks, I didn't realise I needed an interface. Could you elaborate please? What do i do with with the midi cables, just unplug them? and what connects the interface and to where? Im New to all this..

So, 1/4 TS output to interface, where does the interface output go?

The Maschine MK2 is just a controller... it doesn't have any audio input. You need an interface the same way you do for a DAW or any music software.

If you want to send MIDI from Maschine software to the TD3 then you need to connect the Mk2's MIDI Output to the TD3 MIDI Input, if you want the opposite then it's the other way around, or both if you want both options. You also need to make sure the PAD you want to send MIDI to the TB3 from is properly configured to send MIDI to it.

To record the Audio you would need the TS Cable connected to an interface.

To your speakers or headphones so you can hear it.

What soundcard/audio interface do you use now? And the 1/4 TS goes into the line in of the interface, so 1/4 TS again or maybe you need a TS to cinch, it really depends on the interface, but definitely you need a line in. So, as written above then you go from the interface to your speakers or headphones, to speakers you can then use TRS to TRS cables or TS to cinch, again depending on your setup. And all that with software recording @D-One already described perfectly.
