No space for installation: MAC M2 Air, Latest OS, 1.9 TB FREE space (purgeable <1GB)
I am booting from an external SSD. 2TB. In viewing the specs vis Disk Utility, I have more then 1.5 Tb free space and less than 1 gB purgeable.
Was having no probs installing then suddenly I can't install even a library that is <2gB.
I have read all the threads that I can find and tried all the recommended fixes, incl. connecting via LAN.
What am I missing?

Have you checked this article? Native Access Error Message: "Installation has been prevented. You do not have enough free drive space to install the products."

reffahcs 2024-03-07 (instruction screenshots included in the original post !)
Check with Disk Utility to see if you have any snapshots that are taking up space.
You'll have to enable show snapshots first though if you haven't already.
You can also verify this by going to the terminal and typing du -H
If NA is complaining about disk space, more than likely you will see a difference in free space in the terminal compared to Disk Utility.

@Jeremy_NI is is a fresh install on a freshly formatted 2 TBSSD. No snapshots, no other software but MACOS, Native Access, Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt, Kontakt Player, Some NK instruments.
As best as I can tell, none of the NKS possible fixes apply here.
Please see attached screenshots.
TIA for any help!

You didn't write specifically so since no one else asked then I will , the "tried all the recommended fixes"" did that include giving the full disk access to ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon ?

See attached
screen shot showing full access...

But you haven't actually added Native Access there: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415601248657-How-to-Enable-Full-Disk-Access-on-macOS

Thanks for that catch...I did enable it. Then I rebooted with the same problem still there - not enough space.

@Muntatawa Please read the article carefully:
The installation process of a Native Instruments product requires temporarily extra space on your internal hard drive (or 'system drive'), even if you want to install the product on an external hard drive.
So it's not about the external hard drive but about your system drive. Did you change the Download Location and Content Location in Native Access to your external hard drive?

On that note , then I still do not know much about about Mac so I do not know either if booting from an external drive could create some kind of access problems in the OS. So perhaps you also ought to check your drive/user access privileges on your 'internal drive' also (both be logged in as an Administrator but also have full administrative access to both drives) ?
