No More Native Access
Against my better judgement, when setting up my new DAW, after most of my major softwares were installed, I decided to go ahead and install Kontakt 6, my only NI product, after dreading having to deal with it, and whether weighing it was worth it, knowing how difficult the process can be, and in my experience always is. But really, how bad could it be, I thought to myself. Well, here's how bad it was.
Native Access installs fine. It downloads and installs K6 and indicates all is well. But my DAW is unable to scan the vst, and but reports it as a failed scan. And when I run the standalone K6, it immediately crashes and tells me to send the report to NI. I did. They sent me a list of steps and files to download, run, uninstall, reinstall, send more logs. I've been through it now 3 times. Just to run K6, with its unusable archaic interface no big deal library.
I regretted upgrading to K6 from K4 as soon as its installation was complete. And I again regret giving it another chance now. I should have just stayed away from it, having survived the last year or so without it.
My K6 license will be for sale.
