Updates are taking forever - is it downloading the whole product again or not?

So every single update I make in native access is taking WAY longer than it used to. Like 10x or more. I've read that NA isnt actually redownloading the whole product, its just checking the file system or something like that? Why then, does it show the progress bar slowly moving from 0.00 GB right through to the full installed figure? See the image below. The 'update' for East Asia has taken around 15 minutes so far.

What is going on? Are all my libraries being redownloaded fully or not? It certainly seems like it. I've got a 1TB fibre connection. I NEVER had this issue before whatever new system was put in place to (ironically) improve NA updates.

I find some are a lot quicker than I expect, others take about the time I'd expect. I guess it's dependent on how much of the product is being updated. The first update I did for East Asia took a lot longer than today's update, so I'm assuming today's just downloaded the missing patch data.

My East Asia stops with one minute remaining as well. I have Mac Sonoma so I am assuming there is some issue with that. I have tried to update it twice and rebooted my computer.

Are you sure about that? Do you not mean 1Gb?

I meant gigabit yeah, got a bit carried away in my native access based rage 😅

For a while there I thought you might have been living in China.
