Tried numerous different things, but don't seem to be able to get my MacBook to connect to my Traktor Kontrol s4... any ideas what I can do?

I finally tried something different and decided to get myself some professional speaker (Pioneer DM-50D) instead of my Canyon SW-206 and everything works like a charm. I can't believe I wasted so much time on Audio MIDI setups and aggregate speakers and forums….. in hindsight ive learned a lot. Hope this helps someone else who was struggling with the same issue

What version of the S4 do you have? Is it a MK1, MK2 or MK3?

What are you doing? What happens? What did you expect? And are the drivers installed? Traktor Pro 3 up and running?

I've tried just plugging it in via the USB, it doesn't work, no reaction from the mixer etc. I kind of just expected to plug it in and it would work, I've not had a Mac before so a bit lost on how it all works, with my ASUS laptop you just plugged it in and it worked. Traktor Pro 3 is installed and running, not got a clue what a driver is though... Sorry pretty useless with Tech, had old vinyl decks before but now trying to get used to these new ones

Mhh, turns out you don't need any drivers for that device on mac. Then I am also at a loss.

Does it have access to the microphone?
I don't know if it's really necessary but it could be, in my case it is because timecode.

I am having the same exact issue! I have a Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 and I cannot get the hardware to connect for the life of me. Can someone please help? I have tried EVERYTHING. - Jessica L.

absolutely same thing as Jboogie. I’ve literally spend week in forums , spend bunch of money on good quality products, upgraded my kontroler from s2 to s3 to now S4 mk3 and bought traktor pro 4. I’m at a loss for words. I’m very disappointed in native instruments. It killed my joy to learn how to DJ. Bought great quality speaker, have TRS , high quality RCA cables and XLR. There is nothing I haven’t tried. Tried to aggregate through audio midi setup , works however I can’t control volume via the S4. How much more can I do? I honestly feel like returning these all back and go with pioneer controllers

Have you tried different USB cables? Obvious suggestion I know, but I had a problem with my S8 not connecting to the computer (both Mac and PC) and as a last resort I tried a different USB cable and it sprung into life.

You can't see the s4 in the audio setup dropdown settings in traktor?
Can you take a screenshot of what devices you see?
If you should see the s4, can you select that and then take a screenshot of output routing?

If you connect the old speakers also directly to the s4, and not via Bluetooth or USB, I bet they work just as good.
