I'm in the market for a preowned Mashine Mk III controller and I'd like to know what will I need as far as NI software is concerned? I am running Mac OS 12.6.3 Monterey if this matters. Interested in any recommendations as well. Thank you.
You'll be fine - all NI software works on Monterey as per the compatibility list here - Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)
If you buy a preowned Maschine try to make sure the seller provides you with a licence transfer ID for it. That way you can register it to your account and you'll get the Maschine software. If you can't get the transfer ID you can buy the software on it's own here - Maschine Essentials : Pricing | Maschine (native-instruments.com)
As long as you stay away from the MK1 controllers you they'll work on Monterey. Newer controllers have improved screens and functions are labelled better, but older hardware is still perfectly usable. I still use a Studio which is discontinued but works ok.
There's a full compatibility list here that includes Maschine hardware - Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)
That's great to know, thank you. One more question ... My goal is to get a newer Mashine but in the event I don't, does the age of the actual unit have any compatibility issues?
@mykejb you are my new hero. Thank you for responding so quickly and especially on a weekend. Where can I share your accolades and where can I support your music?
You're welcome :) My music is just a hobby so not published anywhere, but thanks for the offer!
Thank you much!!!!
