CH1 gain knob toggles play/pause on CH2 - Mixars Quattro
I have a Quattro that I mapped myself for Traktor several years ago with out any problems. The mapping is available for download on djtechtools.com. However, suddenly in the last month or so when I adjust the gain on channel 1 it quickly cycles between playing/pausing channel 2. I have double checked that is nothing mapped to that knob and nothing else on the mixer is acting out of sync. I've updated the drivers for the mixer and made sure traktor itself is up to date and still the problem persists. It's really weird and out of nowhere, can anyone help?

I'd inspect the signal with a monitor such as Midi Pipe or MIDI-OX. If hardware is indeed acting up then you will see that reflected in the software.

Installed MIDI-OX, I have no idea what I'm looking at here or how to use this program. Do you mind elaborating a little bit on how this can help me?

No problem. First you need to enable your controller ports at Output and Input, but make sure to close all oter midi cappable applications before starting MIDI-OX if you have Windows OS installed on your computer.
Inside MIDI-OX, open the log window and turn the problematic knob on the hardware.
Inspect the messages and see if your controller is sending multiple CC numbers at once. That would explain why is other control also affected by turning the Gain knob.

Found the source of the issue yet?

I tried all the gain knobs and they all show the same CC number (CC: 22).

It is likely that same CC.22 is sent on a four different midi channels. This looks like a mapping issue after all.

I see. Well then I'm at a loss because I don't know how to unattach that control from the knob itself.

Do you use All Ports setting? Perhaps you have other mappings and some of it are using CC.22 to control the play/pause.

Do I need to use all ports or change it to the mixer?

Alright, so looking around and looking for "cc.22" I realized there was a "generic midi" mapping which had a random group of about 15 controls, one of which was causing the problem. Thank you for steering me in the right direction!

Alright! Glad to hear that you were able to resolve it. Quatro is an interesting unit, always wanted to check it out since I come from Kontrol Z2.

It seems the Mixar brand is dead as far as I can tell but I absolutely love this mixer. I wish there were other 4 channels with midi controls.

Yes they are, ant they were never interested in making a TSI for this unit hence Serato integration.

Ive made a pretty through mapping myself so if you ever pick one up, then the work is done
