Why all these exclamation marks suddenly?
All of a sudden, in my DAW Kontakt 7 misses content, then shows up to be unregistered.
Opening Native Access (3.9.0), much content is suddenly "installed" or, even more mysterious, shown with a greyed-out exclamation mark. What happened here? (This never happened to me in, literally, decades).

All clear. Deleting NativeAccess.xml database set things straight again. Everything as it should be.
Never had to do that before. Honestly I think Native Access should be able to re-write the database itself, should it recognize sudden changes of a hundred libraries from installed to not installed.

That or it just can't access the location

I'm just guessing here but I suspect it's happening with older libraries that haven't been updated in a while. As I understand it this release marks the industry wide transition to VST3s, so VST2's are no longer going to be supported. I installed the new Native Access easily with no problems and everything works as expected. But I'm very diligent in making sure I check and update all of my libraries every week to the most current versions and make sure I manage my Native Instruments storage database so it's always pointing to the correct locations.
If it were just pointing at the wrong locations you would get a 'Locate' button to designate where that library is currently located. These apparently are a more serious problem indicative of something like an unsupported format.
I get the Install button under this new version of NA because before I would have to go to the Available page to see libraries available to download. Now they just show up with an Install button on the main page or an Update button if there's a newer version. You will also get a new "Launch" button now if it's something that can be run alone like Kontakt7 or Komplete Kontrol.

Again, it happened today, suddenly.
Then how to show Native Access the location again?
These are mostly (but not all) libraries I installed about one month ago, when I updated to Kontakt 7. Why is Kontakt suddenly "not installed"? Many of my oldes libraries still work as expected.

Good to know I am not the only one!
I cannot see any order to this chaos: It (the grey exclamation mark and "not installed" disease) concerns 3rd party stuff and NI-stuff, old and new stuff, apps and content. There is even content I never (!) installed showing up with these grey exclamation marks. So I cannot install it, even though I own the license.
If I had a strict deadline, I would be furious: I cannot access my music before downloading and installing 500 GB of stuff I had installed just fine a few hours ago. Tbh, this is still annoying.

Unluckily, since the constant flow of new problems, new bugs, inability to fix longtime bugs,… I start to fear that what we have to deal with here is a mixture of 3 things: underestimation of importance of beta testing, lack of ability in programming and, what’s even worst, lack of interest/resources in providing good products.
Sorry to be so direct, but this continuous insurgence of things not working as they should and things not well thought is frankly worrying 😔

Thanks for the info. Tbh, I am a bit puzzled, since I have not encountered grave problems with NIs software yet (except for being force to update a while ago, to use software I already owned). I deemed it an overall stable piece of software.
Has anyone practical advice on how to proceed in my situation? I will post a support ticket, but maybe someone has a quicker solution.

Hey, just letting you know we're aware of the issue existing and working on a fix. Deleting the NativeAccess.xml file and restarting NA does indeed resolve the issue.

Hey there, the Native Access team is aware of the issue and is investigating. Thanks a lot @threegeese for sharing what fixed it for you. I'll put the full procdure of how to delete this xml file:
Reset the XML file
If you have checked all the above and you are still missing a product, please follow these steps to reset the Native Access XML file:
1. Quit Native Access and all other apps.
2. Open the following location on your computer:
macOS: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center
Windows: C: > Program Files > Common Files > Native Instruments > Service Center
3. Delete only the file named NativeAccess.xml from the Service Center folder.
4. Start Native Access and click the refresh button.

Deleted the xml file and the greyed out exclamation marks are gone. Can finally see some of the new products I bought today (e.g. Massive X didn't show up). Unfortunately now downloads are failing. "Download Failed". This is very frustrating.

Didn't fix it for me - only hiding legacy products does but that is not ideal

Ticket 4253094 opened. I wish they just made the installation files available on the website for manual download while they fix that useless Native Access application.
