Please add Tilt EQ component to Guitar Rig 7 Pro?

Friendly greetings!

I'm really fond of Tilt EQs to shape overall tone. Just an elegantly simple way to turn one knob and make things "darker" or "brighter". Could be really useful at the end of a signal chain, like in the master effects y'now.

I'm kind of surprised that with the wealth of components & sheer litany of FX that Guitar Rig 7 Pro has, that even amongst EQs/filters, there isn't a "Tilt EQ" module. Maybe I'm missing something.

The crazy thing is, there IS a kind of "Tilt EQ" INSIDE of Noise Machine, but it's just for the noise signal. So it feels like the stuff needed to make this happen is like halfway there.

I've tried to simulate something close-ish with macros and existing components, but they aren't getting to the sound I'd like. Is there something I'm missing, or...

Could a full and proper Tilt EQ please be added to Guitar Rig 7 Pro?

Isn't this basically what the Tone knob does in the custom EQ?

Hi, sorry to be late to the party ;)

The Custom EQ is indeed a kind of tilt eq of the first order, roughly +-6dB. And the solution to get a steeper slope is to stack them. For easier control you should put them into a Container and assign the same Container control to the Tone knob.

Alternatively you could use the Solid EQ and also assign a Container control to the upper and lower band gains, just with one of the controls assignments flipped so they work in opposite directions.

Interesting idea, however, you can mimic the effect by using and playing around with HPF and LPF knobs from SOLID EQ.

@Milos That's exactly what I've been doing (as mentioned, with macros), but it doesn't come close to the actual elegance of "one knob to rule them all". So I think this can go FURTHER AND BETTER!

@Eddie_NI has indeed been delightfully helpful in channeling our Guitar Rig dreams to come true. Whenever I make one of these requests, I’m thinking about the broader user base and how valuable it’d be for a variety of use cases, whether it’s guitar-centric or otherwise.

GR7P is in fact on my de facto channel strip — QUALITY IN QUANTITY!

Observations for improvement:

Yes it appears to be doing the same thing I have in mind. I overlooked the word "Tone" here, it might be useful in future documentation if this was also referenced as a "Tilt EQ"-type control, as a synonym.
It's fairly mild, while the range goes from 0-100 it might be more useful to label it was +/- X dB ... I can't quite tell but it seems to change target freq content from +/- 6 dB maybe? When Freq is at center and Scoop is 0. So if the extremes could be extended to 12-18 dB (which isn't unheard of), that'd be helpful. Guess the workaround is to stack two of them.

Well at least this gets us closer, and I am grateful.

@Eddie_NI You're right on time! Thanks for confirming my feelings about the current range and stacking. I've got to get more usage out of Containers. I hope your answer helps others who find this and search for "tilt EQ" in Guitar Rig 7 Pro.

@Eddie_NI Installing your preset also brought this up:

I had the "Rack Presets" folder open in the macOS Finder, I dragged in "Tilt Containers.ngrr" and it didn't show up.
So I went to GR7P's File menu - Preferences - Library tab and did "Scan for new presets". That also didn't make it show up. (Maybe it's not looking for User/Curated Presets but only factory ones?)
Then I went to File menu - Import and imported it, and it showed up. So it looks like for now, that's the recommended path?

Context: in some other environments, I'm used to dragging-and-dropping a preset right onto the plugin window, and it'll show a green (+) icon and import it.

Or it'll recognize something new has been added to the folder, and auto-rescan, or a button will be available there.

Correct, you need to go through the Import entry in the File menu. Drag&drop for importing presets is on our to-do list!
