Long USB cable for S88 MK2 ?

Hi all,

Due to positioning of my 288 Mk2 it's distance from my PC is quite far.

I need to invest in a new USB B to USB A connector that is longer.

In looking at this I have 2 questions:

1. On Amazon all USB A to USB B cables are advertised as suitable for HP/Lexmark/Etc Printers - Are these suitable for Audio, or do I try and find a specialist cable?
2. My computer has USB C input, would a USB B to USB C Cable (if it exists) be a better solution? Whilst it's probably/possibly faster, I don't think that it's quite as durable.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

1) Since it is digital data , not analog , then I seriously doubt that there is any difference at all whether for digital audio data versus any other digital data transported over the cable !

2) The USB-C port may be able to supply more power but the S88 MK2 has it own PSU I think and is not powered by the USB (?) (At least in my opinion you ought to use a PSU !) . Also since the speed will always be limited to that of the slowest port speed (keyboard port) when negotiating speed then I doubt that speed will be greater with an USB-C port than if you had used an e.g. USB 3 port. (might still not be faster than USB 2) However to me it looks as if the S Series MK2 is using USB 2 (?) at least the port plug on the keyboard is USB 2 B type !

On that note , when buying cables then please notice that there is a huge difference in the plug between USB 3 B-type plug and the USB 2 B-type. What you have on the Series MK2 is USB 2 B-type plug ! (which , yes , has typically been seen on printers).

Also please notice that if you buy a really cheap cable then the loss of electricity in a long cable could be greater than if buying a quality cable which could result in a malfunctioning connection. I have though no experience what so ever with what is the lengthiest cable that you can use with the S-Series MK 2 !
