A61 dials/knobs not working properly

Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone can help me with the setup of my A61 keyboard dials with Komplete Kontrol.

Out of the 8 dials on the A61, only the last 4 dials are changing parameter values as assigned in the plugins for Komplete Kontrol.

When I attempt to turn the first 4 dials, the A61 display registers input as the correct Layer/Macro in the plugin, but it does not change the actual value of the plugin parameter.

The same issue is experienced across multiple NI plugins.

The same issue happens in my DAW (logic) as well as the standalone Komplete Kontrol app.

I'm using macos with Komplete Kontrol 3.1.2

Has anyone else experienced this?

You could try taking a look at your DAW's MIDI mapping settings. Sometimes they can get a bit wonky, especially with plugins like the NI ones. Also, make sure your Komplete Kontrol software is all up to date.

Have you checked the MIDI setup in the stand-alone version of Komplete Kontrol ?

Yes, I have checked the midi assignments. The dials/knobs run from CC14-CC21 on page 1. CC22-CC29 on page 2 etc.

As I said in the first post, the first 4 knobs/dials (cc14-cc17) register input on the small a61 keyboard display, but turning them doesn't affect the value of the parameter in the plugin. Knobs 5-8 work fine (cc18-cc21).

This bug is replicated on pages 2, 3, and 4 of the midi assignments - turning the first 4 knobs doesn't change the parameter value, but the last 4 knobs on each page does.

Hello,

have you made a midi mapping? I´m a bit confused, normally if you use komplete kontrol, everything is mapped automatically. What is even more disturbing that it happens for you in kk stand alone too, then the keyboard should switch into native control mode and not stay in midi mode with template 1, or whatever showing in the display, the display should then show the parameter name if you touch a knob. I guess you are a mac user, have you gave full disk access to all apps. if you start komplete kontrol stand alone there is a keyboard sign on the top right and it must say 61, and if you click on "controller" it must say "komplete kontrol A69" in black, not grey.

If the last four are working OK and the first four aren't it sounds like the first four knobs are faulty. KK doesn't use any of the MIDI mapping so it's not like you can mess anything up. I'd put in a support ticket to get it looked at. Is it still under warranty?
