Hi,

Kontakt 7 full version keeps playing a piano in the background, as well as any instrument I load in the stand alone Kontakt.

Wierd. Any help appreciated, thanks!

Because the MIDI output is directed to Microsoft GS softsynth. Go to Options->MIDI->Outputs and disable that.

    Ok...

    A stupid but interesting question...

Do you use a keyboard on your studio to play Kontakt instruments?

Because I had a similar issue.

When I started playing Kontakt libraries with my Yamaha keyboard, I heard the original library's sounds, but I also heard the sounds from my keyboard as well.

I only turned down the volume of the Yamaha keyboard and it helped me.

Did you encounter a similar reason for the issue, good sir?

Does the piano still play if Kontakt is closed?

If not, then you may have more than one instrument loaded in Kontakt. Kontakt allows you to play multiple instruments at the same time.

Hi and sorry for the delay in response. Yes, I use a Komplete Kontrol S88 MK2 midi controller and nope, no other instruments are loaded in Kontakt7 when I open the stand alone version.

It's strange. I don't even know which piano (I have several besides NI) Kontakt is playing. When I load it in my DAW it's fine...just a curious thing in the S.A. version which, I don't use very much...but still.

It could be a default GM (General MIDI) sound from your built in audio interface.

    Hi PK,

By "built in audio interface" I assume you mean any USB or Thunderbolt audio controller and it's a 20 channel board with no native sounds so, negative there.

And for the sake of clarity it only happens in K7 (full version), not K6 (full version), and only happens when I load an instrument or sound be it NKS or NI.

    I dunno, man.
