@Jeremy_NI - I'm sorry to report that even after updating Kontakt to the new 7.10.2, I am still experiencing crashes when loading instruments into Kontakt inside Logic 10.8.1 - all running on Sonoma 14.4.1, and with an S88 MkIII connected.

Is this still the known issue that NI says is on Apple's side to fix?

@danstein Yes, it's a different issue, and is not fixed in Kontakt 7.10.2, we are still waiting for Apple to fix the issue:

Apple have told us they're working on the fixes, but have not shared a timeline.

Thank you Matthew, I noticed that. Perhaps, they roll out a new Sonoma on WWC in a few weeks. But for now the beta version of 14.5 seems to work. At least I don‘t get that kernel panic reboot thing in Ableton Live 12, when using K7 libraries. Normally compromising the kernel is the behaviour of a virus, worm or rootkit 😂

Oh that sounds fantastic if the new 14.5 beta works (a few betas back someone from NI said here it did not work) Lets's see, today/tomorrow should be the last beta of 14.5 and a release next week. I am praying this finally is solved

This will be released on Monday. Here's hoping it takes care of the issues we have been facing.

I have not received any confirmation from Apple that it does

For me, since I installed MacOS 14.5 final release, everything works fine now:

Logic Pro, Kontakt 7, Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3 → no more crashes, when choosing Library via browser

Ableton Live 12, Kontakt 7/Komplete Kontrol, Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3 → no more MacOS rebooting because of "kernel panic". I hope this bug will never ever come back again.

    Hi!

I just had to create a ticket.

My S88 Mk3 keeps losing its MIDI connection within Cubase 13 Pro & Logic Pro, everything is ok in standalone.

I can start adding a few KK or K7 tracks/instruments in the DAW, and have access to them from the S88 Mk3, but it's only a matter of time or the number of KK or K7 instruments added on top - until I don't have a MIDI connection anymore.
Often, but not always, I was also shown a CoreMidi problem.

I'm currently testing this under Ventura (13.6.7), but I also tested it previously under Sonoma (14.5), where I had the same problem.

Unfortunately, resetting the "Remote Settings" of a Kontakt instance in Cubase doesn't help, even after a restart.

I also applied the fix “Native Instruments MIDI Device Scripts.zip” recommended by NI, but unfortunately it didn’t help.

When I connect my old midi keyboard it works.

Are there any new workarounds / fixes or advices?

    Best regards
    Felix

Check on the Kontrol Mk3 - Is the keyboard set to MIDI 1.0? If not change it on the keyboard itself in the hardware settings:

    • Select MIDI 1.0
    • Power the keyboard off
    • Go to your mac's Audi & MIDI setup, found in Applications -> Utilities
    • Delete the entry for Komplete Kontrol MK3 by clicking the entry and using the delete key on your computer keyboard

    Power the keyboard on again.

My response comes a bit late, but thank you, that helped and I had already found the solution.

I see that during the last firmware update of the S88 MK3 you made the Midi 1.0/2.0 setting more visible, very good idea :)
