Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 left tempo fader - sliding it up doesn't work

Hi everyone,

I have a Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3, which I use with a macbook pro, running Traktor pro v3 software.

For the last week, when I slide my left tempo fader up on the controller, the fader representation on the software doesn't budge - i can't slow down the track I'm playing from the controller. It works as normal when I slide it down to speed up. The right side tempo fader works perfectly (slide up/down).

I can move it up on the Traktor pro software if needed by moving it up with my mouse, and if I use sync on the left side of the controller to correspond with the master track playing on the right side, it automatically moves up if the right track is slow - but again, moving the slider up manually on the controller just wont' work.

I've tried completely reinstalling the software but no luck, also tried re-running the setup wizard. It still behaves in the same way. I tried to reinstall the device firmware but as I'm on the latest version it won't update.

Has anyone experienced this? If so did you manage to fix it? Any help or suggestions would be greatly welcome.

When you slide it up, does traktor get midi signals? There is a symbol in the top middle that should light up.

Do you have any custom mappings active?

If no to both, you can try to get dirt out of the fader with compressed air, and relube it with something like DeoxIT F5 CAIG Faderlube.
