how do I get maschine to successfully rescan my library?
I just started having this problem, where barely any sounds from the NI library are showing up. Even when I hit rescan, it barely rescans for a half of a second. I am trying to finish up a beat I started a few nights ago, but Maschine isnt allowing me to, because it's telling me that samples are missing. There are exclamation marks by almost all of the samples i am using within this session. This is sooo frustrating because I just want to create. I watched a native instruments tutorial video titled "How to Make MASCHINE 2 Rescan your Default NI Plug-in Paths" and even that isnt working for me. Btw, my sound library is on an external hard drive. This is my first time encountering this issue.

Operating system for my computer (macbook air), or Maschine? I was using samples from Maschine Library, and a few percussion samples from a beat pack. And also how do I figure out the format of my external harddrive? Sorry for being ignorant of these things.

@Siah yes, the operating system of your Macbook Air, you can check this with the apple on the top left of your screen, About This Mac.
To check the drive's format, right click and get info. It should be formatted to APFS, as explained in this article: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers

It is macOS monterey version 12.7.1....I see i need an update. And Mac HD says APFS System Volume. My External 5TB WD says USB External Physical Volume Mac Os Extended (Journaled)

Can you try to reset Maschine's database:
Reinitialize the Maschine Database
- Go to the following location on your computer:
- Macintosh HD > Users > *Your User Name* > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments
- Note: The User Library folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden macOS folders.
- Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Maschine 2 folder.
- Delete only the Maschine 2 folder found here.
- Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
- Reopen the Maschine software to check that the issue has been resolved.

Alright so just to be sure, I should delete Maschine 2 and redownload it?

No, deleting that specific folder won't uninstall Maschine 2. Just its database will be deleted. It will get recreated/rebuilt once you open Maschine 2 again.

Gotchu, I'll try that in the morning.

Hey, I had a busy week. I've just done all the steps you advised me to take in your last response. Yet, im still having no luck. I still see exclamations symbols by the samples i have loaded in my project. This is very discouraging. What shall I do next?

does this seem like a resolvable issue?
