how to make a part of this sample loop ?

hi all,

have a sample loaded up in the sampler, part of it selected to loop. loop active set to ON.

but when i hit the pad, the sample plays right thru, ignoring the loop section, gets to the end and stops (as it usually would without any loop set up)

this worked fine in the past, not sure why it's not working now... any ideas ?

i can get it working in ADSR mode but that's no use for how i want to use it... need to be able to hit the pad one time and have it ride out all the way with the loop. seems that's impossible

You're not missing anything. You can get what you're after if you draw in a long note or use a sustain pedal while using ADSR with sustain all the way up. The sampler doesn't have an option to hold a note. I'm not sure I know of any sampler that implements looping the way you're describing.

Assuming the tempo matches the sample, I'd chop it into 2 samples and then just keep repeating the phrase you want to loop as a one shot.

i must be overlooking something simple... no ?

i want it to play forever, then i'd have another pad on a choke group to stop it when i need to

thanks @darkwaves ! would be a unique workflow option then if they simply let one shot mode follow the specified loop. but got you - thanks for the workaround suggestion
