Use Two Traktor Z1's / Z1 as generic MIDI device

I've seen a lot of interest on the Internet in using two Z1s (myself included). But Traktor allows the use of only one, with the other one not even available in the controller manager and I don't see any recent updates on this.

Does anyone know of a way to have the second Z1 recognized as a generic MIDI device that could be mapped manually?

Possible solutions might be a firmware patch or a proxy device that forwards the MIDI messages between Traktor and the Z1 but ignores the rest of the communication that causes the conflict between the Z1s. Has anyone tried these?

    Putting the second Z1 into MIDI mode and custom mapping it is what I'd try to do. Never had a chance to test more than a single Z1 though.
