Okay. Thx @Jeremy_NI bring me here. So the problem is Samsung Ultra wide screen and S88 MK3?
I both have Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED and S88 MK3.
The display setting is 5120x1440/VRR 48~240Hz/HDR

@F1ySyn There are 2 separate issues:
- The Kernel Panics (= mac full crash and reboot). The S88 mk3 doesn't have nothing to do with it, it's only Kontakt 7, sometimes Komplete Kontrol or Guitar rig 7 that will crash M2/M3 Pro, Max or Ultra macs.
There are several threads around:
Kontakt 7 Crashes on Mac M2 Ultra with Samsung Ultra-wide screen (KT-8785)
Re: Kontakt 7 window across multiple screens causing Kernel panic shutoff on Mac Studio! (KT-8785)
2. There's a bug with Kontakt 7 when used in Logic in conjunction with a Kontrol MK3 keyboard, it wll crash Logic, but not the whole computer. The workaround is to use the Komplete Kontrol plug-in instead.

Hey all, latest update:
We are currently working on a fix to the issue, and have an experimental build of Kontakt available. Please note that this update is in the process of being verified, and may introduce other unforeseen issues. If you’d like access to this experimental update, please get in touch with our Customer Care team here: https://bit.ly/NI_support_kontakt (we already contacted some of you that already had contacted about on the issue)
For those who wish to continue using the released version of Kontakt, the following workarounds may reduce the frequency of crashes:- Avoid using an external monitor if using a MacBook
- Try an alternate connection (e.g. displayport / thunderbolt if using HDMI, or vice versa)
- Adjust resolution or frame rate of external monitor
- Use a different external monitor
Additionally, early testing indicates that the crashes are less likely to occur on macOS 14.5, which is currently in public beta. However, no timeframe for this macOS update is currently available. You can access their beta here: https://beta.apple.com/0 -
This issue was solved with Sonoma 14.5.

I am experiencing a kernel panic and crash as of today with my M2 Ultra and Samsung Odyssey G9 57" monitor. I am running Sonoma 14.5.
Good news is the crash does not occur if I connect Kontakt 7.10.5 directly to my audio interface, but if set the output to any monitor (I have 3 including the G9) then my system crashes.

My Mac is also crashing if I attempt to open the Choral plugin in my DAW (FL Studio), both AU and VST3 versions

Mac is also crashing when opening Bite

Same with Freak, Dirt, and Flair, I think all of the VST effects are crashing my Mac. I can prevent the instruments from crashing my Mac because I can select the audio output, but cannot do the same with the effects.

Never mind, I spoke too soon. Kontakt 7 is crashing my Mac now, even when setting output direct to my audio interface. I tried deleting the Application Settings files and reinstalling Kontakt 7 but no luck

Hey Jeremy.
Nothing fix from my side. Now the chance of panic reappearing is 100%
This affects my work much more than any random panic attacks before. I can provide some logs so that your team can fix this bug.

I've contacted you by email, my colleagues will need to have a deeper look in your system.

Hey was this issue fixed? We were in contact by email, I asked for some crashlogs and you never got back. Do you still need help?

I also sent crash logs and didn't hear anything, and I'm still getting crashes.

I just checked your request, last message was from us asking for the crashlogs. Could you get back to my colleague and send these again?
