Maschine+ 1.5 = OUT NOW

NI team should make this much more clear in their release notes and blog. Maybe the Marketing department would like to keep it more vague, but now there’s confusion and disappointment.
The VSTs are FINALLY compatible with the desktop version of Maschine. Nothing more nothing less. It took them more than half a year (?). Yes, that’s a mistake if you’re selling a standalone device that should integrate nicely with the counterpart on the desktop.
But, glad they’ve FIXED this after all. And, we got this wonderful new logo. At least, in standalone not in controller mode. With another great announcement… they’re going to talk to us about our wishlist (and bug fixes?).

As PK already mentioned, this update does not mean that new content has become available on Maschine+. The main change is that the content that was already available, is now available as VST3 and in the latest versions (in line with the Desktop releases).
This is an important change for different reasons: As VST3 is the new standard and improve compatibility problems between Desktop and Maschine+. Updating all products (like Reaktor) to the latest version as on Desktop was important to solve problems where Reaktor ensembles that had been created on Desktop could not be opened on Maschine+.
Also these changes were necessary to enable us to even consider making more content available in the future. But this is a story for another day.

“Consider”
Consider some sort of a roadmap 👍🏻

Not sure if this helps, but please make sure to not only reboot but fully shut down and start the unit after the update. The issue you are describing sounds suspicious but I can also confirm that everything worked perfectly fine here on multiple attempts.

Been messing with the update some hours, havent had a single crash yet so that's good! No missing expansions on my end, all my old stuff loads, although to be fair I only have a couple expansions, not 10+ like some users.. hoping you get those issues sorted soon
Was slightly bummed to see Kontakt wasnt yet updated to version 7, but latest Kontakt 6 which has parity with the desktop will do for now. Main thing is, we can finally move past the whole Apple Silicon & VST3 migration mess. Perhaps next year we will even get new features, now that that flustercluck is over..?
I'm most buzzed about the Reaktor desktop parity we got! Finally I can start building ensembles on my M1 mac 👍
Time to sell off my old Macbook Air I held on to just to be able to build ensembles for Maschine+ !

Maschine plus updated here.
As always with NI, no problem and no bug. This is a big strong point with their products.
I'm really glad VST3 is supported :)

Hi Kai, thanks for responding, I did shut down safely… I’m fairly neurotic about tech backups and such procedures. It might be a coincidence and the sd_card corrupted some since I last rebooted. OSX first aid reported some missing sectors, but that’s normal after 6m of use with an sd-card, although this card was only a few weeks old.. The wierd thing was that even after fixing the missing sectors, it was still not recognised in the m+.
I’m currently backing up a snapshot of the sd card, will reformat via Maschine (previously used osx) and restore the original data, see if that works. If not I will then reformat, reinstall expansions via Maschine d/l, test, and then reinstall user folder. I was using a plus symbol, in the name of the sd card, I’ll remove that as Linux can be wierd about non standard characters. Any other ideas of what to do?

How long did it take...?
Mine is showing the 'restarting' animation for about 30-40 minutes now.

About 3- 4 min max

Forced it to shutdown. When restarting it the update was started and installed.
Strange behavior I've experienced so far is very slow shutdown times. Especially with the USB-B connected to my USB midi Hub, which is connected to my Audio4C Interface (at this point not connected to my iPad or MacBook Pro).
After rebooting one more time with the USB able disconnected, everything seems to work fine again. Made a video of it, which I will share if the problem returns.

This is an update? 😂 Gut instinct told me this would be a big nothing, but I held onto the + until I saw proof. Well immediately sold it after I saw this “update”. Good luck NI, been with you guys since 2011. You’ve lost a decade plus customer to Akai! Probably will lose a lot more 🤷🏾♂️

So underwhelming as usual from NI. I wish you loved the Maschine + as much as we do. A new logo, come on!

I loaded the update today, and I see the vst3 in the plugin format options. Was anything else added or changed?
