Komplete Kontrol MK2 in 2023
I have a question, I'm wondering, if I buy a s49 Mk2 in 2023, where the Mk3 is already been released, how long that keyboard will be still "relevant" in the native instrument ecosystem?
updates, eventual new software integrations and controls?
I'd like to know what Mk3 can offer that Mk2 cannot? like features (other than poly aftertouch).
it is just about the screen? or there are features that I need to be aware of?

There are plenty of excellent reviews on YouTube that showcase the features of the MK3. As other's have mentioned, Loopop has an excellent review. I'm a big fan of Loopop as well.
As far as how long the MK2 will be relevant.... I think NI would really be hard pressed to give a specific date, as I imagine there's still quite a stockpile of MK2's that vendors would like to sell. If NI announced a date this early on, the MK2 value could possibly tank over night.
I'm usually not an early adopter of things. I bought a MK3 because I was interested in the instrument and I don't have a MK1 or MK2. If I had a MK2 I probably would have waited about a year or so before buying a MK3, but personally I don't think it really makes a ton of sense to buy a MK2 now, unless you find a great deal on Reverb or some other 2nd hand reseller.

We are not privy to exactly all the technical details and we do not know exactly what N.I. are going to do software wise. So it is completely impossible to say for anyone outside N.I. what is the future (and N.I. employees either don't know or are not allowed to tell).
The only reason for you to buy a Kontrol S series MK2 keyboard would be the price and if you got a really nice offer else you might as well buy a MK3. However no matter what then wait , both until N.I. have fixed their initial S Series MK3 problems and also until later this month to see if there are going to be any Black Friday deals (not all deals have been revealed yet !)(Ref. supposed "Deal Tracker")

The MK2 is just fine and will be foe a long while yet. The added benefit is it works BOTH with KKv2 and KKv3 which is a blessing because from all accounts, v3 is not yet an acceptable version and seems most people are far more happy with the older v2 so i'd say a MK2 or even MK1 seems a better bet at the moment unless you are one of those that just has to have polyphonic aftertouch...

damn, both of you have very valid points, I really don't know what to do man... because I was dreaming of being able to buy Mk2 this Hollidays season earlier this year, and this Mk3 situation completely destroyed my plans, I'm just more confused now... however I guess better they drop the new one before I bought the old one so at least I have the choice, I'd hate it if I bought it just before hahaha
side note guys, I recently updated KK software, and my m32 seems to not work properly, the transport controls send midi to my DAW but they don't work.. it is just me?

No , it's not just you with respect to the 'DAW', both you are not actually being specific with respect to the DAW and also I do not remember exactly the advice any way except for with respect to MK3 there were written something about going into the DAW and do something, re-scan , or reset , or , simply can't remember. And anyway then some things may depend on the specific DAW (?)..
In the past however a fix for some have been to change the USB port to somehow re-register the keyboard.

Maybe get a MK2 with a long return window? This is on Amazon with a return window till 31-Jan-2024
