Maschine and third party midi keyboards

I currently have a Maschine mikro mk3 which i use with Maschine 2.0 as the DAW. I also use Arturia Pigments as a software synth plugin.

I'm looking to get a midi keyboard that will work well with the above setup, something that Maschine and Pigments recognises.

Currently looking at the M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini and reviews state it's compatible with most DAWs, however none specifically mention Maschine.

Would this keyboard work with my set up?

Yes, you will loose performer functions if you used those. But otherwise it will work.

Bear in mind Pigments, like many modern plug-ins, has MPE and aftertouch capabilities, which you would lose if you are using Maschine to capture what the keyboard is playing

Hoping NI will update Maschine soon to give it aftertouch support but MPE is probably further off if, feasible at all in the current hardware Maschine generation

There's a couple things you can do.

1) Get an Arturia keyboard. This will recognise the parameters when you use Pigments, so you can move the knobs and it changes in pigments. You can get a minilab mk2 fairly cheap 2nd hand.

2) Use any other midi controller and map the knobs/sliders to the midi controller in Pigments. Click on the gear icon top right, then map. Easiest way is to use the same MIDI cc the Arturia controllers use, but you can map to any knob parameter in Pigments - then save as a preset. Here's an example of what that looks like in Analog Lab.
