The new keyboards sound nice but I would only be interested in them when they work with Dorico 5 in win11. Why can I not find this? It is the best DAW on the market. Odd.

Hey @Ronnie Mehlis you should of course be able to use the new S-Series keyboard with Dorico, but I don't think there'll be an advanced integration like with other DAWs unfortunately.

Be aware also that at the moment even the officially integrated DAWs have hiccups.

Maybe take a little informations about Komplete 3.0 and MK3 situation (you can find many threads here) and make an informed choice

Does this mean, that I will not be able to change instruments on the touchscreen as I would with Cubase f.e.?

No - the touchscreen and knobs of/on the keyboard, as this seems to be the main pain point in playing the music into the DAW.

Oh ... I just looked at the walkthrough again. Correct, but it has those knobs where you can controll everything on the HD display and so you do not need to change instruments etc. on the PC anymore. So this probably would not work with Dorico, as far as I understand the compatibility. I mean every connection or input from the keyboard must be understood by the connected software. But then somebody mentioned KONTAKT which you have to load into Dorico .... so maybe that is the idea to control these keyboards in Dorico and you can control the intput as shown in the walkthrough....?

Sorry but I start to find difficult to follow you ☺️

Change instruments from the PC anymore?

    Control these keyboards in Dorico?

I just will stick to my suggestion to take informations about what the kb and the kk software do 😉

Well ... the normal way to work with instruments is to load them into Dorico to choose the instrument(s) that you want to assign to the notation. So normally you connect the instrument to for example Kontakt and when this opens you choose the instrument that works through the Kontakt player which also gives you a UI to controll it in any way they have programmed it. Right?

But this happens on the screen of the PC. The new Keyboards seems to give you total control on the keyboard itself, at least choosing the instrument and doing effects with them. That is what I understand is the new, improved option. Only downside is, that the keyboard does not have any pads for drums like my current Oxygene61. But then: I only do Non-pop stuff.

Komplete keyboards always worked like this, that’s nothing new.

You put an instance of Komplete Kontrol or Kontakt in Dorico (or any other DAW) and then you can browse on the keyboard to chose the instrument you want to load in them. Once loaded, if the instrument is NKS compatible you can use the automatically assigned parameters with the knobs to control them
