Why does Maschine 2 software always ask to save changes?

If I open a project or group then immediately remove it or close Maschine I get the dialogue box saying its detected changes and asks if I want to save them when nothing has been changed. It's only started doing this after reinstalling all my NI software on a new computer.

    Hello,

was it looking - asking for some samples, if yes that is the reason. This can happen after installing it again with some folders being different or samples missing for example.

You may not have made any changes to the project, but Maschine is set to load the last project.

This could be that project you opened and closed, or it could be the project which last auto loaded when you opened Maschine. You are basically telling Maschine what project to load when you next boot into it.

All samples, plugins are in their correct locations and load correctly so it's not that causing the issue.

Not exactly sure what you mean.

Doesn't matter if I load a demo project or 1 of my own, maschine software will always detect changes and ask to save them even when all I've actually done is open and play the song without making any changes to them. It never used to do this so I'm inclined to think it's a bug introduced by an update.

Note that almost anything is a change, simple things as just switching from Ideas to Song, opening the Mixer or selecting another Pad or Group for example, I kind of like this because it might be your intention that when that project is open a specific Pad/Group is selected.

With that said some projects do show a change even if we don't touch anything literally, no idea why but I don't think it's indicative of any issue.

Well, every project I open and close right after will ask me with this dialog so I would say it's expected behaviour. @Mark Oxley What version of Maschine and operating system were you using with the previous computer?

If I open a project and change absolutely nothing, the project name already has a * next to it in the title bar indicating that Maschine believes saving is required. I am running Maschine 2.18.1 on Windows 11.

I do find this annoying as I browse the sample projects a lot - and get into the habit of pressing 'Discard' and then make the same mistake with my real projects and lose work.
