No disrespect to Jef but he just glanced over this, talked about it for less than 1min and mixed the lack of buttons with the lack of integration. Again not flaming the guy as he just did a 'sneak peak' and tends to stick with the positives.

For in-depth and unbiased HW reviews/overviews always watch Loopop, there is no one better on YT.

I would still want to be able to use Maschine software in the new KK Mk3 like I do in the current Mk2 controllers. Can you confirm this will be the case. Ive just cancelled my order because of this issue. It's a fundamental part of my work flow as I run Maschine with multiple outs in Logic Pro and use KK Mk2 to control everything. Im not bothered about the buttons on the keyboard etc just the software as before.

Jeremy already confirmed with an official article that there will be no integration for Maschine, only regular old MIDI. What other confirmation do you need?

We can also look at this from another angle. If the buttons dedicated to maschine have been removed, this may also mean that a redesign of maschine is under consideration.

There's always gonna be a new Maschine, a new KKS, and a new Traktor controller, unless one of these main product lines really dies off.

Yes. I mentioned that in this thread before and the article also implies it.

Altho I certainly wouldn't recommend someone to spend 750$ on a keyboard that might, one day, perhaps have a feature that OP clearly stated is essential to his workflow... It might take 1 month, it might take a year or.. it might not happen.

I recommend OP to buy it when/if it does what he wants.

Very sad.. What an earth are they thinking !! Like I said I've now cancelled my order due to this.

If I had to guess I'd say they are in a rush to meet a release date set long ago so prioritized the main user base which is DAW / KK-Kontakt users. Theres loads of people asking so maybe someone from NI will expand on their reasoning once they start replaying on the AMA thread, it's usually a higher-up answering like a Product Manager or something.

I think something was leaked and they decided to push the release forward faster.

likely Maschine will be updated next year but I have little faith when it comes to any suggestion of things being “maybe considered for the future”, given the vast track record to date so assume safely, if there is no integration there may never be. Does seem strange tho to integrate with daws but not their own product, I’m not fussed as I don’t really use Maschine much, but still strange…

I feel like less integration with maschine, and more things like... poly AT... are a great direction to go in, for the $$. This is precisely what I was hoping would happen -- less dev time spent on adapting a new KK keyboard to maschine, and more time spent on improving keybed and other features + *adapting maschine to KK*.

My maschine mk3 is for maschine, which is why I bought a novation 61sl mkiii instead of a KK mk2. The 61sl is a MIDI / DAW keyboardist's dream and all the $$ you spend goes into great, universal features. If the new MK3 keyboards had been released last year, I would own that instead of the 61sl, but such is life. Perhaps I can convince sweetwater to swap me in October? lol

While I agree with Milkman’s idea of a controller more focused for its tasks….cmon…dropping your own Maschine integration in a controller also made to integrate things? And while you already had it. At least put in the same one you had in the previous version.

Again, as others have mentioned, there is plenty of basic integration between KK mk3 (such as that you can see in the few videos out there on the KK mk3) and maschine, just not the heavier integration seen in the actual maschine mk3 and older KK mk2.

Have you folks watched the videos out there? The Jef Gibbons video, etc? If that sort of integration (he demonstrates connecting it to 3rd party stuff, maschine, kontakt, etc) isnt enough, perhaps Im not even sure what sort of added integration folks want. Seems very useful, the screen is larger and better, the controls line up and look good, and over time more nks stuff will be built for it.

My biggest critique of the maschine/mk3/kk/mk3 ecosystem here is DAW-facing integration, not internal integration. The DAW integration/routing features are among the worst, and Ive spent more time tweaking and re-routing maschine/mk3 inside DAWs over the last few years than *any other* component in my entire studio. On one hand, KK mk3 with LESS maschine integration sounds wonderful to me, but on the other hand, what sort of issues will I find between various DAWs and KK mk3 when/if I buy one?

I think people are talking about 2 different type of integrations here.

One thing is the integration with kk and the one with any other plugin allowing to play it. But what has been removed here is Maschine software integration. Seeing/Editing patterns, Scenes/Patterns launch, mixer control, track selection,… And these are all things that were already there.

Yes, we can still play instruments inside Maschine. But if this isn’t a step backward…

No, there is no 'plenty of basic' integration between MK3 and Maschine at this time. Just because two systems are MIDI capable, it doesn't mean they integrate. For example my smartphone is midi capable, to say it has Maschine integration is a stretch to put it mildly. You have to look at what the actual integration was about to understand what is missing.
