Mac / Maschine only works if I open Controller Editor

Hey there,

I encountered if I connect my Maschine Mikro Mk3 to my Macbook M1, it lights up and then shuts down. It only goes into working mode and midi mode if I open the NI Controller Editor once (I can close it after that). Then there is no problem, but the issue comes back if I reboot the Mac.

Any idea what's going on? Do I need to have something running in the background or missing drivers?

@NicolasG Have you installed the Maschine software? Does the Maschine software have full disk access ? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Also, to be sure. If the Mikro MK3 is connected without the Maschine software on or Controller Editor you need to push SHIFT + the Maschine logo button, top left of the Mikro Mk3.

I have this same problem. All NI software listed has disk access although Maschine is greyed out which suggests to me it doesn’t need disk access. I have pressed the shift+maschine logo but this has no effect.

None of the buttons light up until I go into the NI Controller Editor.

Have now tried setting Control Editor to open on start up of computer. It doesn’t work. Control Editor has to be physically opened.

@NicolasG Oh, this is still happening? Sorry to hear that.

@Elvislives77 Do you also have the issue with a Mikro Mk3? Do you also have a M1 computer?

@Elvislives77 You said that the Maschine software does not have full disk access, if I read correctly, it is important to give full disk access to the Maschine software: How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

@Jeremy_NI This worked for me now. Thank you! I wish NI's software would ask for full disk access during setup so we can avoid manually going into settings and do stuff. Maybe something for a future update.
