Pitch & Mod wheel no longer working S61 Mk2 controller

For the second time both Pitch and Mod wheels no longer function. This happened originally about 8 months ago, whilst unit was under warranty. Repaired by NI.
NOw it's happened again outside the warranty. I've tried different cables, ensured the controllers aren't mapped to a different CC, and also used MIDI-OX to confirm none function (all other keys, pots, pedals, etc show responses)
The touchstrip still works, so I've mapped that as an alterntaive mod wheel.
Any ideas if I can buy spares, or if this could be a loose internal connector /ribbon cable. Certainly appears a hardware fault (again) as no response shown on KK controller mapper either

Seems rather strange for the exact same issue to occur for you and be it hardware, especially since I have not seen this as a common issue reported (or even recall ever seeing it reported on the forums).
Unlikely the actual wheels would be faulty since they are just potentiometers and pretty robust. Could be a connection if both have stopped working but you would have to popen and inspect.

Thanks for the reply Jester. Before I open her up (done it before, lots of booby traps with very short ribbon cables, etc) have I exhausted the tests? I would imagine running MIDI-OX, without any DAW or VSTs running kind of proves it's hardware related ? Is there a "reset to factory default" for the actual keyboard for example ? Could my software have changed the CC output channel (I did check and all looks good in Kontakt controller (i.e. mapping). I presume MIDI-OX would just be registering any potentiometer movement and responding. All other pots operate as normal. Just hoping there's an another option to explore, or whether it's gotta be a hardware cause. Thanks in advance

@Barry Thompson If both wheels do nothing in MIDI-OX, especially the pitch wheel, it definitely like a hardware issue (again, sadly). The definitive test is to try the keyboard on a different computer, then again contact our hardware department: https://bit.ly/NISupport_Hardware

I have a similar issue:
All of a sudden my CC1 Mod Wheel does not work.
Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk2
I have tried re-booting computer, keyboard.
I have tried stand alone Komplete, stand alone Kontak, and running under Cubase
1. Kontakk 7
2. Komplete .0..3
3. Cubase 13
MacOC 13.6.2
Mod Wheel does not respond in any software that I have now.
Any ideas?

Larry - all I can tell you is it mine has been repaired twice by NI. Grab a utility called MIDI OX and test the keys and mod wheels to see if there's any response. With that software loaded all keys displayed a value, and so should the mod wheels if they are functional. Alas mine didn't. And that's where I am today...tolerating it, but reluctant to return it yet again. If you do decide to take it apart be warned there's a few "traps" in there (i.e. ribbon cables with very little play on them). Very easy to rip something out and damage if you are not very careful.
My main concern is that this keyboard isn't "on the road" and just sits in situ at my workstation. It's kind of put me off buying another piece of NI hardware, despite their repair facility being pretty good.

@Larry Good First open the Komplete Kontrol standalone application. Check if there are any MIDI assignments when the keyboard is connected:
Make sure that there is no knob or button assigned to MIDI CC1 (=modulation wheel information), check also buttons, pedals, etc... You can also reset the MIDI assignements by creating a new template.
Now check the MIDI assignments when the keyboard is not connected. Remove any MIDI assignment here by clicking the little x.
If that's not successful, then close any audio or music application, then control the MIDI input when you are playing with the modwheel: How to Monitor the Input of a MIDI Controller
If nothing is showing in the monitor, then your device is probably faulty and you should
- Check on another computer if the issue is the same.

When I checked on shipping th board to a location native instruments recommended it was $250 one way via UPS to ship the keyboard.

Hey @Larry Good Unfortunately, if the device is defective and out of warranty, there is not much more we can do.
