Nice, it does not seem to introduce new hardware control elements in order to keep the interface for existing compatibility. Now, if it used a touch-sensitive screen (one larger screen as opposed to two smaller ones), it might spell the same for the Maschines of future.
I hope this isn't real because it can't compete with the Arturia Keylab then. All that blank space not being used.
If it's real, I'm glad they brought back the full-width lights for each key.
It does look like one big screen, and if it's a touch screen, that opens up a lot of new possibilities. That could explain why they haven't added tons of buttons — in fact, it appears to have fewer buttons than KK mk2. IMO that would be a smart move, because a screen-based UI can evolve with software, but buttons are permanent. There are some standard ones like transport controls that you'll always want, but KK mk2 had a bunch of Maschine-specific buttons that (as far as I know) don't do anything in other DAWs (providing no value for non-Maschine users), and may become less useful with future versions of Maschine.
I imagine they would also eventually release a Maschine mk4 with the same big (touch?) screen.

Good point. That’s probably a better choice anyway. Custom touch screen UIs are often laggy/janky, and it would require an onboard CPU, further increasing the cost.
If that's a touch screen, it can suck it.

It's a design theme that is also in the new Traktor hardware and probably the next Maschine too I suspect (and also a nice clue...)

More of a magenta actually..... and was visible in pre-release leak of new Traktor product...
But a circle in the S-series is circling around too.....
