How to record vinyl mix using Traktor Kontrol Z2?

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling to find the correct settings to record the (part of) set, where I'm playing vinyls (in Thru mode), not the timecode vinyl. Please help.

When "Mix Recorder" is set to "Internal", the digital tracks I play are recorded but when I crossfade to a vinyl track (in Thru mode), there is no sound.

If "Mixer Recorder" is set to "External", no sound is captured.

A step-by-step guide will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

easiest would be to press shift + traktor button next to the phono/line selector, it should switch between live input and scratch deck (if you have selected it) so the signal should go through the decks, so set it up accordingly. You should now be able to record the mix with internal mode. It's also mentioned in the manual of the Z2 chapter 5.4.8.

Thank you! It works, of course.

Being new to Traktor and DJing software, I must admit I did not know and I'm still not quite sure what a "deck flavor" means, and the Kontrol Z2 manual says "we assume you already know this".

Something the Kontrol Z2 manual does not mention is that you first need to switch to Traktor mode by pressing the Traktor button and only then press Shift + Traktor button to switch to Live Input. It's not possible to change to Live Input mode directly from Direct mode.
