I am planning to buy my first Apple M2 computer. Now, if the latest 3.5.0 Native Access uses Rosetta 2, does it mean instruments have to be used in Rosetta mode too?
Thank you for your help.
Hey @Kuba Axeman You'll find some more information on Native Access and Rosetta in this thread: Native Access 3.5.0 need Rosetta for NTKDaemon, is it normal?
For all other current products or plug-ins no Rosetta needed. I would not recommend software migration for our products, especially for the applications and especially if you are moving from an Intel mac to a M1/M2 Mac, they should be installed from scratch to avoid any issue.
No, only Native Access (still) needs Rosetta for installation purposes as the underlying NTKDaemon service is not native yet.
All other products - except Absynth 5 and Traktor DJ 2 - are natively compatible with Apple Silicon and do not need Rosetta to run:
So I am assuming NTKDaemon is necessary for update checkups and downloads but it is not involved in running plugins in a DAW or in stand alone mode. Am I correct? Please answer Y/N🙂 . I’d like to have a new system as clean as possible. Of course I do not want to wait till the end of the year for NTKDaemon to become native. So if Rosetta is not some constantly running service then I will go with M2 purchase and software migration. Anyway Monochrome, big thanks for the swift response. Best Regards. Kuba.
Hi Jeremy.
Thank you very much for your quick answer. I didn't know about the Apple to Apple migration feature. What I meant was I will uninstall Komplete 14 CE with their licenses from my Windows 11 PC and slowly install everything on my first Mac ever. That is why I used “term” migration - as a description of a slow process :)
Best regards to you and your team. Kuba
