S4 MK1 Help - Live Input D Feeds to Main

First time I’ve hooked up turntables to my S4 and the inputs work fine but with the fader down, input D comes through the main outputs even without Traktor software running and making sure none of the inputs are selected as an input in Windows. The main volume knob controls the output so it’s not bleed. When Traktor is running - the channel D input still comes out the main - and when you put the fader up there is slight latency between the signal faded up and the raw input so you hear both simultaneously. I feel like I’m missing something obvious.
