S88 Random midi notes

I recently purchased a used S88

For a few days, everything seemed to be working properly, until it started playing random midi notes.

I see the keyboard notes being triggered in Kontakt screen.

It happens when using just as a controller as well as within Komplete Kontrol plug in .

I tried a new USB cable - no change

I imagine its something obvious but can't figure it out.

Im using an M1 Macbook, Cubase Pro 12.

Are you sure Cubase is not sending midi in any way to Kontakt/Komplete?

No, I am not 100 % sure.

But if I disconnect and re re- connect with just a synth , it goes away.

It doesn’t always trigger random notes, last night , worked great . Also, noticed that it doesn’t do it from start up. It’s normally after I’ve been working on something for a while.

I’ve had this happen multiple times when I am using the S88 strictly as a controller for my Yamaha Modx via usb midi. Not computers connected. Out of nowhere a single random note No rhyme or reason Annoying but not the end of the world. Weird.

If you open Komplete Kontrol in standalone, be sure to only tick this entry as a MIDI input.

You could also try to make a new cubase project, create just one instrument track and insert a midi monitor module. Maybe also check for a firmware update on the driver's download site.
