Hello, I am trying to find an answer as to what changes in my Komplete 13 existing library when I upgrade to 14. Does it completely replace my existing libraries or only add to them leaving all existing content as is? If the latter is the case, how many Gigs of added content is to be expected?

Thank you for your help in advance!

You will have both products registered on your account.

The programs that are not included in 13 will be added, nothing will be replaced, being the ones you already own the same.

About Gb, it depends on which Komplete bundle you have (Standard, Ultimate, Collection…). Best thing you can do is go in NI site, and under the page for the 14 version you want, check in the tab “What’s new for me” and there see the new products and watch how many Gb they require.

BTW: you must be logged in to see “what’s new for me”, of course

No changes at all. You will keep your old library too. Most libraries have different names (such us Kontakt Factory 1 and Kontakt Faktory 2 etc.). Of course in that way, you will end-up with some Gigabytes of duplicate files. However all libraries you have the same name (old and new) will be overwritten, but still, any old files who have unique names will remain.

Just to be sure, i suggest to do this: Backup your entire library on another folder, then, install the new one. Then, copy the old libraries on top of the new. Messages will appear: "The file already exist, do you want to replace it?". Choose, "No to all".

After that, you will have the complete new library plus all the files from the old one that do not exist in the new! And you will avoid a lot of duplicate Gigabytes. However, keep in mind that, if you have made custom changes to any file, without save it to your User library as a new file, all those changes will be lost.
