Mk3 and Kontroller 61, I have questions

Hello. I'm new to the forum.I've had my mk3 for years and love using it. I want to learn how to play piano so I just purchased the Kontroller 61 that only has USB, no midi and upgraded to komplete 14 collectors edition

How do I connect the mk3 and 61 to my PC and use them at the same time? I know I can plug both USB in the PC but configuration wise it does not seem to work. I have a gaming PC with tons of ram and processing speed. I only use the NI daw to control my mk3. Do I need a separate daw like Ableton to integrate both pieces of hardware?

I was successful in getting the mk3 and audio to play thru the pcs speakers but when I added the keyboard it glitched and now YouTube audio stops. I have to disconnect the keyboard and restart the PC in order for the audio to return. Is this what an audio interface is for, to route the sound to external speakers?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are no drivers for the A series keyboards, it's plug & play with Windows 10 & 11. You should first check if everything is functional in Komplete Kontrol in standalone, make sure you select the MIDI inputs & outputs, then open Maschine and select the A61 as an input.

If it's not working in Komplete Kontrol is nstandalone, try the following: My KOMPLETE KONTROL Keyboard Does Not Start

About the audio issues, make sure to set the Maschine software and your Windows system at the same sample frequency.

Pluggin them both with usb is the right procedure and it should work.

Since you say the keyboard has no midi din, I suppose is the A61, correct?

In any case the 2 devices connected with 2 usb should work, maybe try to install manually the drivers for the A61 (you can find it here)

Once the keyboard is recognized by the computer, opening Maschine software should make the 2 controllers work automatically.

About the problem with YouTube audio stopping, it should not be related. This would require some more investigations. (It could have something to do with windows picking up your MK3 built in audio interface as main choice for windows audio…maybe check under windows settings which audio interface is selected)

An audio interface improve the quality opposed to internal audio interface of a computer and also gives you access to physical ins and outs to use with cables.

Your MK3 has a built in audio interface that you can use to route external gears audio into the softwares or route computer/softwares audio to a mixer or speakers (or other gears). And it also has midi din connectors to connect midi devices. If you want to use it, in Maschine software you have to choose it under Preferences - Audio.

And no…you don’t NEED any other DAW to make the 2 controllers work together (if you want to work only in Maschine software). Try the driver installation and I hope your problems will be solved without having to buy anything more

    Thank you for that information!!!

Yes, I purchased the A61. I felt it was a good starting point and since I already had the MK3 I didn't think I would need the "S" series, although after I ran into these issues I did have second thoughts about the "S" series just for the midi capabilities.

As far as windows audio I will look into the windows settings and figure out what is going on there.

I will def try the driver installation!!

    Thanks again.
