Hi,

I'm trying to figure how to move the "Native Instrument" folder inside Documents to an external disk or another location, because I'm using iCloud and everytime it uploads and removes it from local storage and it's very annoying.

I've tried to make a symlink without success...

Thank you!

@Senseixon The best would be to exclude your Documents folder from the iCloud sync, as the folders found in this NI folder are default folders for a lot of different applications and it will mess up all the said applications.

It's important to note that the current state of this problem is not satisfactory and requires immediate attention.

Relocating the NI directory should be allowed; a user choice for the NI home directory makes sense.

Documents are part of the iCloud solution for sharing files between devices. This is very useful in many ways for more than just the home of the NI directory. I accept that there is some lack of functionality in the iCloud sync, allowing us to always keep certain files online. However, this is not the case, and a simple directory redirect from within your NI product would simplify this. Why not default to "~/Music"?

    Thank you for your time

@Jeremy_NI I too need to relocate this folder, not because of cloud sync but because it has ballooned to over 30GB and I can no longer accommodate its size on my meage 500GB MBP Internal SD.

    What to do?
