not sure of your setup, but a high quality Audio Interface would be recommended. Just plug your guitar into the input and send the output to your Amp/PA. Without system specifics, can't offer any more advice

Yes, I'm using a Scarlett 18i20- but I want to know if I can use Guitar Rig 5 independent of my DAW.

Yes you may use GR5 standalone. I do not use it standalone and live, so cannot comment on usability in real life live scenario.

There should be an App that was installed...not a mac guy, but here is an article on launching apps...

Thanks for all your answers. Now that I've got GR 5 as a standalone I've connected Rig Kontrol 2- but it won't function without an ASIO driver. How can I obtain an ASIO driver for Rig Kontrol 2 ?

OK- it's registering ASIO4All but I've no audio input/output. The virtual and actual Rig Kontrols are responding to each other but I've no audio. Any ideas ?
